Unlike many other places, the real estate market in Lancaster County didn’t drop drastically during the economic downturn. Houses are still selling, although perhaps not as quickly as they did a few years ago. Buying a home in Central PA is still a fantastic investment, and selling a home can be quick and painless when you have the right help.

• Prices continue to rise: Estimated median house or condo value in 2009: $150,000. Compared to the same period one year previous, the median home sales price increased 3.7%.

• Strong job market: Even in the bad economy, the Lancaster County job market stayed strong and didn't come close to the national unemployment rate.
